The Eufy Robot Vacuum Review
Eufy robot vacuums are known for being easy to use. Its eufy RoboVac 30C model is Wi-Fi-enabled and includes an remote control that allows for easy application operation. It also has boundary strips and a battery that lasts for 100 minutes.
Its Boost IQ technology can move from tile and wood to low-pile carpeting and area rug without any hassle. Other standard features include obstacle and drop detection that allow it to avoid bumping against furniture and walls.
Boost IQ Technology
The eufy line of robot vacuums offers a wide variety of models, however there are some features that are common across their lineup. Boost IQ is one such feature, which helps your robot move smoothly from hard floors to low to medium pile carpeting and area rug. It will automatically increase its suction force when it comes across a certain surface type to ensure the most effective cleaning possible.
Another great feature is the ability to switch between various cleaning modes. This includes Quick Clean, which is great for a 30-minute fast sweep of the floor, Auto, which will work in an open area without having to switch modes, Edge, which will really focus on the corners and walls, and Spot which is the best when there's an area that needs extra attention like baking soda spilled on the floor.
The Eufy robot is equipped with all the essential features such as drop and obstacle detectors as well as an automatic emptying base. The majority of robots come with an obstacle and drop detection. This prevents them hitting walls or furniture.
Many of the eufy robots also have a variety LED indicators that communicate with you, similar to a digital watch. A solid green signal means that the robot is standby or charging mode. Blue indicates it's active and functioning. And a solid orange means that your eufy has ran out of power and needs to go back to its home base.
The eufy RoboVac 11S is a highly rated robot vacuum, is ideal for those looking for a powerful robot with a long running time. It also has the ability to get to the most remote corners of your house. It's an ultra-slim design that can fit under furniture and in tight spaces, as well as an tempered glass cover that's scratch-resistant. It also has a physical remote control, smart sensors to help navigate, and a variety of cleaning modes. However, it doesn't have the same advanced features that some of the other models in the line offer, like digital mapping or app-based controls.
Powerful Suction
A powerful suction level of 2,000 pa makes this vacuum ideal for removing food particles, cereal crumbs, and other bits of dirt or dust that accumulate on hard floors as well as low- to medium-pile carpeting. It also gets rid of pet hair, dust mites and other allergens from upholstered furniture. A rotating side brush helps reach into corners and along baseboards, while the rolling brush pulls up dirt and other debris that sticks to surfaces.
The 25C is Wi-Fi-connected and can be controlled from apps on smartphones or via voice when connected to a smart home speaker like an Amazon Echo or Google Assistant. It also comes with a compact charging station that houses the vacuum cleaner while not being used.
All models of the eufy robot vacuum come with many standard features, like obstacle and drop detection to avoid hitting things or falling down the stairs. Certain models, like the eufy RoboVac 11S and its re-engineered successor the eufy RoboVac 30C MAX have advanced navigation systems that create and keep a virtual map of your floors so it knows where to go (and which areas to stay clear of) every time it cleans.
You can customize cleaning cycles, set specific areas for the eufy robot vacuum to stay clear of using the app or Alexa-compatible voice commands. And you can also cordon off rooms that contain fragile items, like your children's toys or console tables. The eufy comes with two boundary strips which allow you to secure larger spaces.
The RoboVac 11S MAX from Eufy is one of the best-performing robotic vacuums in our tests, earning high marks for cleaning ability and navigation. Its design is minimalist and has one button on the top to wake it up and an on/off switch underneath for a continuous shut-off, as well as a glass-tempered surface with ten infrared sensors to steer clear of obstacles, and an 0.15-gallons or 0.6-liter dust bin. Its re-engineered navigation device is equipped with iPath laser scanning technology that builds and stores an image of your floor. The system then uses this information to swiftly navigate to every room in your house and make sure it covers every square inch of your floor.
Convenient App Control
Similar to many robotic vacuums that are available, eufy's models come with intelligent features that let you control your device remotely. You can plan cleaning times, set virtual boundaries to block your robot from entering certain rooms (such as those with electrical cords) and use the'return to base feature'. Some allow you to create a map of the house and mark the areas you want to clean.
The most advanced eufy robotic cleaners feature a specific navigation system, referred to as'smart mapping'. It analyzes the floors of your home and creates a map it uses every cleaning. This lets the vacuum effortlessly move from floors that are not clean to area rugs, and back to the original location without missing any steps.
The RoboVac 25C, for example, is a great illustration of this model. It comes with three suction power settings you can select through the companion app "Standard", "Turbo" which improves the machine's performance when cleaning bare floors and "Max" which is designed to clean high-pile flooring.
Its battery performance is impressive and allows the vacuum to run for as long as 100 minutes in its default Standard mode. The vacuum also comes with an internal indicator for the battery that blinks blue when the vacuum is charging, turns pulsing orange when the machine is low on power, and solidifies to blue when it's fully charged.
Another feature that is cool is the 'Spot Cleaning mode that allows you to make the vacuum concentrate on a narrow specific area by pressing a button on its base. This is great for getting crumbs or pet hair out of corners or from under furniture where a conventional vacuum would struggle to reach.
The elegant RoboVac also does a fantastic job of removing pet hair from different flooring types, but it may require a few extra passes to remove hairy areas that are stubborn in carpeting with a high or low pile. As with most robotic cleaners it's not as effective in removing hair from crevices and cracks as it is with floors that are bare but it does a great job of removing pet hair from both bare and carpeted surfaces.
100 Minutes of Cleaning
The eufy robot vacuum can clean for a staggering 100 minutes, and then automatically return to its charging base. It is able to work on multiple floors, and is equipped with powerful vacuums that can clean anything from cereal chunks to glitter specks. A tough brush roll as well as an additional side brush allow it to reach corners and crevices that might be out of reach for other robots.
The battery-powered robo vacuum works on hard floors and carpets, and it is controlled by the included remote control or by using your smartphone or smart home assistant to transmit commands via Wi-Fi. You can also alter Boost IQ which can optimize the suction power according to the type of floor that the vac is working.
The G30 Edge, like other robots that are eufy, is designed to move around your home in a minimalist manner. Attach the edge brush rotating and connect to Wi-Fi in just one minute. Once connected, the app lets users to create a cleaning routine and use voice commands via an intelligent home speaker compatible.
This level of customization is available on a variety of elegant robotic vacuum cleaners. You can choose the areas you'd like it clean and when. The app allows you to define virtual boundaries that stop the robot from entering areas where there could be electrical cords, or other obstacles.
Some eufy models include an intuitive map which uses a combination of sensors to calculate the position of furniture and walls, and shows a route for covering them. Others use an algorithm for navigation called iPath which is cleaning robot mop and vacuum more advanced. In these cases, a robotic vacuum uses an algorithm to intelligently create the path, and then follow it until it reaches the specified area. The robot returns to its dock and charges, waiting for its next scheduled cleaning.
Other models of the eufy robotic vacuums don't have this kind of intelligence. These entry-level models are usually the least expensive and do not use the digital map system. Instead, they chart a random path every when they start a cleaning session. Although this can be frustrating, the eufy robotic cleaner is always able to cover the same areas. Moreover, it rarely fails to cover corners or other hard to reach places.
